The Persija Jakarta vs. Persib Bandung match in the 2025/2026 BRI Super League has been officially relocated to Samarinda. This Week 32 fixture will take place at Segiri Stadium, East Kalimantan, on Sunday, May 10, 2026.

I.League announced this decision through its CEO Ferry Paulus just four days before the match. Security concerns were the primary reason for relocating the game known as Indonesia's El Clasico.

"The league has decided the match will be held in East Kalimantan, specifically Samarinda. The schedule remains unchanged: May 10 at 15:30 WIB," stated Ferry after a meeting between I.League, Persija, and police officials at the National Police Headquarters in South Jakarta on Wednesday.

Originally scheduled in Jakarta as Persija's home game, the intense rivalry between both teams raised security apprehensions, necessitating precautionary measures.

Beyond security, Jakarta's packed May agenda also contributed to the decision. The situation was deemed potentially disruptive beyond football considerations.

"May has numerous scheduled events that could create issues beyond football's jurisdiction or intentions," Ferry explained.

Ferry emphasized Samarinda as the optimal solution to maintain the fixture schedule, calling it the best outcome after other options proved unfeasible.

I.League previously considered alternative stadiums in Java but discarded them due to overlapping matches. A Bali option was canceled because of proximity to Bali United's fixture.

"We initially planned Bali, but Bali United plays on May 11. Our regulations prohibit back-to-back matches at the same stadium on consecutive days. East Kalimantan has no other matches besides Persija-Persib," Ferry clarified.

The match will allow approximately 13,000 home supporters at the stadium, while away fans remain barred for security reasons.

In league standings, this match holds title implications: Persib currently leads with 72 points, while third-placed Persija (65 points) retains slim championship hopes.
