Arsenal tightened their grip at the top of the Premier League standings after securing a 2-1 victory over Chelsea in the 28th week at Emirates Stadium, London, on Sunday local time.
The three points from this London derby brought The Gunners to 64 points from 29 matches. They now lead by five points over Manchester City in second place. Meanwhile, Chelsea remain stuck in sixth place with 45 points from 28 games, trailing the top four by six points.
Arsenal took the lead first in the 21st minute. William Saliba successfully put his name on the scoresheet after capitalizing on Gabriel Magalhaes' headed pass, making it 1-0.

The home team continued to apply pressure. Jurrien Timber threatened Chelsea's goal, but that chance was saved by Goalkeeper Robert Sanchez.
Just before halftime, Chelsea equalized. An own goal by Piero Hincapie, who failed to anticipate Reece James' corner kick, leveled the score at 1-1 in the 45+2 minute.

The situation worsened for the visitors when Pedro Neto received a second yellow card in the 70th minute for fouling Gabriel Martinelli. Chelsea had to continue with 10 players.
Despite being a man down, Chelsea scored late through Liam Delap. However, the goal was disallowed by the referee for offside in the buildup.
Until the final whistle blew, the 2-1 score held for Arsenal's victory. This result keeps The Gunners' Premier League title hopes alive this season while cementing their position at the top of the Standings.
