At just 18 years old, Yamal also set a record as the youngest player in the top 25 list of players with the highest market value globally, simultaneously achieving the highest historical value for a player of his age.

Yamal's journey at the elite level began with his debut for Barcelona's first team on 29 April 2023. He came on in the 83rd minute to replace Gavi during Barcelona's 4-0 La Liga victory over Real Betis. 

Since that moment, Yamal became the youngest player ever to appear for the first team of the Catalan club.
