Escape Lounge Portland excelled through its strong local identity. Featuring regional cuisine and artwork, it offers an immersion into the city’s essence rather than merely functioning as an airport waiting area.
Tom Waldron described this win as evidence that personalized experience-driven approaches grow increasingly relevant in the travel sector.
This trend extends to regional winners. In Asia Pacific, Lounge Fukuoka in Japan claimed top honors.
Europe’s Vienna Lounge led with high service standards and elegant design.
The Caribbean region was represented by Club Kingston in Jamaica, while Africa and the Middle East saw Bidvest Premier Lounge in Johannesburg victorious.
Each demonstrated a robust focus on service quality and passenger comfort.
The new One to Watch category also drew attention. Lounges like VIP Lounge Angelo D’Arrigo in Italy and I.A.S.S Superior Lounge Kocoo in Japan showed rapid service-quality improvements.
Collinson International CEO Christopher Evans noted that demand for premium Travel Experiences now peaks at unprecedented levels.
He emphasized that top lounges deliver a powerful "sense of place."
Currently, Priority Pass provides access to over 1,800 lounges across 841 airports in 146 countries.
Services now extend beyond lounges to include spas, rest areas, and premium culinary experiences.
Portland’s victory symbolizes a new direction for the global airport industry—where local, personal, and authentic experiences set the new standard in Air Travel.
