Praising Indonesian Fans as Extraordinary, Jay Idzes Brings Garuda Spirit to Italy

Jay Idzes is not only bringing Indonesia's name to the Serie A stage, but also the incredible spirit and support from Indonesian fans that is now spreading to Italy. The 25-year-old defender admitted that the aura of support from Indonesian fans motivates him even more to perform at his best with Sassuolo.
“I'm proud to represent the Indonesian national team, the support given is immense, and it's the same at Sassuolo,” he said in a video uploaded to the club's official YouTube channel.
Idzes shared his experience joining Sassuolo and the significant responsibility he carries as captain of the Indonesian national team. He stated that Indonesian passion for football matches that of Italy.

“Every time I play for the national team, the support is incredible in so many ways. Even when we lose,” he explained.
Although not captain at Sassuolo, Idzes still strives to bring his leadership spirit to the Garuda squad. He recognizes his role as a figure watched by many, both on and off the pitch.
“When I joined Sassuolo, it seemed like many fans [from Indonesia] started supporting the club too. This becomes a responsibility for me,” he stated.
With additional Indonesian supporters cheering for Sassuolo, the Emilia-Romagna-based club now has a new support base from Southeast Asia. Idzes wants to repay that trust with his best performances.
“I want to be a good example. I will do everything I can for this club because I want to give my best to the supporters too,” he concluded.
Jay Idzes officially joined Sassuolo after being signed from Venezia on a contract running until the summer of 2029. So far, Idzes has made seven appearances in Serie A, only missing the first matchday.
