All tourist entry access to Mount Bromo is closed due to the wildfire.

Tourist activities at Mount Bromo have been temporarily halted. The Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park (TNBTS) Central Management Office has closed all tourist access routes to the Bromo area starting Saturday at 22.00 WIB, in order to fully optimize ongoing wildfire suppression operations.

TNBTS Head Rudijanta Tjahja Nugraha confirmed this decision was made based on the latest on-ground wildfire developments. The active fire front inside the Bromo Caldera has continued to expand, meaning visitor presence will disrupt firefighting operations while also creating significant safety hazards.

"To ensure effective fire containment efforts, tourist visits to Bromo are closed for all entry points," stated Rudi.

This closure applies to every access route leading into the Mount Bromo tourist zone. There are five main access points regularly used by visitors, spread across four different regencies.

These entry points include Cemorolawang in Probolinggo Regency, Wonokitri in Pasuruan Regency, Jemplang and Coban Trisula in Malang Regency, as well as Senduro in Lumajang Regency.

Visitors may not enter the Mount Bromo area via any route for the time being. This closure is implemented not only to support firefighting personnel, but also to guarantee the security and personal safety of all guests.

"This closure will remain active until an undetermined future date," he added.

Mount Bromo Tour Tickets May Be Rescheduled

The Bromo area closure has impacted scheduled travellers. TNBTS management has provided options for visitors who already purchased entry tickets via the official online booking system for dates falling within the closure period: guests may reschedule their visit, or request a full ticket refund.

To access these services, visitors are required to complete the official form published on the TNBTS online booking website.

This policy is an emergency adjustment implemented by park management, as well as a measure to provide clear certainty for visitors who had already confirmed their reservations.

Tourism Operators Instructed To Cease Activities

Beyond general visitors, TNBTS management has also ordered all tourism service business operators to temporarily stop all activities within the national park grounds.

This directive forms part of efforts to maintain an unobstructed, safe working environment for emergency teams throughout the firefighting operation.

"This measure is enforced for the collective safety and security of all parties," he emphasized.

According to video footage shared by TNBTS via its official Instagram account, the active fire is burning on cliff terrain adjacent to the Tengger Caldera Ring Road (JLKT).

In the recorded footage, an on-site officer confirmed the fire has now spread towards Mount Kursi, which is also located within protected TNBTS territory.

No official timeline has been set for the reopening of Mount Bromo tourist access. Prospective visitors are advised to wait for official public announcements from TNBTS management before planning any trips to the area.
