Eid holiday is always a favorite time for Traveling, and Mount Bromo remains one of the most sought-after destinations for travelers. For those planning to visit, important news: the official visitor quota has been increased.
The Center of Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park (TNBTS) is adding 1,000 tourist slots per day during the Eid Holiday period. This means your chance to witness Bromo's legendary sunrise is greater—provided you act fast.
TNBTS Public Relations Officer, Endrip Wahyutama, explained that this policy is routinely implemented every long holiday season.

"Specifically during long holidays or long weekends, the daily quota opened is 3,572 people, with an additional 1,000 slots starting at 07:00 WIB. The normal quota is 2,752 people," said Endrip.
With this addition, the total daily quota during Eid reaches 3,572 visitors. However, the quota system remains strict—it's first come, first served.
Tips for a Comfortable Bromo Trip
Bromo has extraordinary appeal, but during peak season like Eid, you should also prepare for potential crowds.
To anticipate this, management has prepared strategies, especially for congestion-prone routes such as:
- Sunrise View Point (Simpang Dingklik)
- Pakis Bincil
- Bukit Kedaluh
- Watu Gedhe
- Jemplang
These areas will be critical points, particularly during sunrise viewing times.
Additionally, around 60 joint personnel will be deployed to ensure smooth operations and Tourist Safety.
"Security at entrance points and potential congestion spots involves not only TNBTS teams but also assistance from Police, military, sub-district authorities, buffer villages, Forest Police Community Partners (MMP), and Fire Care Community (MPA)," he stated.
Before departure, note these essentials:
- Domestic Tourist Ticket: Rp79,000 (holiday rate)
- Foreign Tourist: Rp255,000 ($16.30 USD)
- Tickets must be purchased online via the official website
The visitor peak is predicted for March 22–23. For a more relaxed experience, consider dates outside this period.
Beyond quotas, safety is crucial. Endrip reminded tourists to remain vigilant within the Bromo area.
"Avoid disaster-prone locations, especially near PVMBG monitoring equipment in the Bromo Caldera area, particularly the zone often called Planet Bromo. Motorcycle users must ensure their vehicle is in prime condition due to the route's steep ascents and sharp descents," he advised.
