Indonesia Women's Football League 2026/2027 will kick off in October, with 6 participating teams.

The 2026/2027 season of the Indonesia Women's League is scheduled to kick off in mid-October 2026 and run for 17 weeks. This professional women's football competition is a critical component of efforts to build a sustainable women's football ecosystem in Indonesia.

Six clubs will participate in the inaugural season of the Indonesia Women's League: Persija Jakarta, Persita Tangerang, Dewa FC Banten, FC Bekasi City, Persikad Depok, and Garudayaksa FC.

The Indonesia Women's League 2026/2027 Owner Meeting hosted by I.League serves as the first official step to align preparation plans across all participating teams ahead of the competition launch.

Multiple key topics were covered during the Owner Meeting, including match calendar finalisation, competition regulations, operational logistics, and technical delivery standards for the league.

A New Foundation For Indonesian Women's Football

I.League Chief Executive Officer Ferry Paulus stated that the Indonesia Women's League carries fundamental importance for the progress of national women's football.

He explained that a professionally run competition will provide female players with structured match experience and support long term sustainable player development.

"We are committed to delivering a competition held to high operational standards, that also acts as a proper platform for female footballers to grow and compete at a professional level," Ferry stated in an official announcement.

This league is not designed only to host matches. It is also structured as an official part of the national player development pathway, to create clear professional career opportunities for female footballers.

PSSI Backs Progressive Competition Growth

PSSI Executive Committee member Vivin Cahyani Sungkono highlighted the importance of establishing a robust foundation for the competition.

Vivin noted that launching this professional league is a core step to create a properly structured development pipeline for women's football in the country.

"We are confident this initiative will be a strong starting point to build an improving competition, that will raise standards season after season," Vivin added.

With the confirmed mid-October 2026 launch timeline, all participating clubs now have a clear timeframe to finalise their full preparations.
