Karo Regency, North Sumatra will host the Karo Flower and Fruit Festival 2026 from 30 July to 1 August. This festival is expected to act as a key milestone to expand tourism destination promotion, while also introducing the natural wealth, cultural heritage, and flagship agricultural produce of the Karo Lands.
"The Karo Flower and Fruit Festival is not merely an entertainment event. It is also a strategic moment to introduce the natural beauty, living culture, as well as outstanding agricultural products from Karo Regency and its surrounding areas to a wider national and international public," stated Juni Antomi Kemit, Head of Karo Regency Office for Culture, Youth, Sports and Tourism.
The Karo Regency Government expects that holding this festival will deliver direct positive impacts on the local community economy.

Increased tourist arrivals are anticipated to run in parallel with the opening of new investment opportunities, as well as improved livelihoods for residents who rely on the tourism and creative economy sectors.
As one of the flagship tourism destinations in North Sumatra, Karo Regency hosts a diverse range of visitor attractions.
Cool highland mountain panoramas, well-preserved indigenous culture, alongside premium horticultural produce including cut flowers and specialty fruits form the core regional appeal of the Karo Lands.
"All of these assets will be showcased at the Karo Flower and Fruit Festival 2026, to present the very best face of the Karo Lands to all visiting tourists," he added.
This festival forms part of structured efforts to strengthen Karo Regency's reputation as a leading national tourism destination.
Officially Listed in Ministry of Tourism 2026 KEN Calendar
The Karo Flower and Fruit Festival 2026 will be hosted at Mejuah-juah Public Park, Berastagi. Both local residents and visiting tourists will be able to enjoy a curated event lineup that blends nature tourism, cultural performances, culinary experiences, and signature agricultural produce from the Karo region.
This festival has been formally included in the 2026 Karisma Event Nusantara (KEN) national event roster published by the Indonesian Ministry of Tourism.
Across its three full days of operation, the Karo Flower and Fruit Festival will offer far more than just stage entertainment.
Visitors will be able to witness themed flower and fruit parades featuring Karo regional specialties, mixed traditional and modern cultural arts performances, as well as dedicated exhibition zones for premium agricultural and horticultural products.
The dedicated Karo traditional culinary festival also stands as one of the main visitor drawcards. Alongside enjoying authentic local dishes, guests will also be able to browse Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise (MSME) and creative economy products exhibited throughout the event duration.
Dozens of MSME Tenants Engaged
The visitor experience at the 2026 Karo Flower and Fruit Festival will be further completed with the presence of 82 tenant booths.
A wide range of goods will be displayed, ranging from traditional handcrafts, apparel, creative design products, through to various locally processed food and agricultural goods.
Inclusion of these tenants forms part of efforts to expand promotion for Karo Regency's creative economy products, while also opening up new market access and networking opportunities for local MSME operators.
For tourists wishing to explore authentic regional cuisine, the organising committee has prepared a dedicated culinary zone serving full traditional Karo heritage dishes.
This culinary zone is designed not only to enrich the visitor experience during the festival, but also to provide a public platform for culinary MSME operators to introduce their products to guests travelling from across the country.
