Cristiano Ronaldo has once again proven himself to be one of the greatest footballers of all time. The Portugal National Team Captain has set a historic new record as the first player in the history of Football to score goals across six consecutive World Cup tournaments.

This milestone was achieved when Portugal faced Uzbekistan in their second Group K fixture of the 2026 World Cup held in Houston, Wednesday WIB. Ronaldo once again became the centre of attention with his goal contribution during the match which ended in a resounding victory for Portugal.

The 41-year-old striker wasted no time demonstrating his class. Just six minutes after kickoff, Ronaldo successfully found the back of Uzbekistan's net with a precise right-footed finish.

Per official FIFA records, this goal carries significance far beyond simply Putting Portugal in the lead. Ronaldo has now officially become the first player ever to register goals at six separate World Cup editions.

This record streak began at his debut World Cup appearance in 2006. Since then, Ronaldo has found the scoresheet at every subsequent tournament: 2010, 2014, 2018, 2022 and now 2026.

This remarkable consistency stands as proof of Ronaldo's physical durability, professionalism and elite ability that has allowed him to compete at the very highest level of World Football for over two decades.

Ronaldo's record places him ahead of his longstanding career rival Lionel Messi. While both players have also appeared at six World Cup tournaments, Messi failed to score a single goal during the 2010 South Africa World Cup.

This was not the end of his achievements for the match. Ronaldo extended his goals tally further against Uzbekistan, finishing the fixture with a brace. These two goals against the Central Asian side bring Ronaldo's all-time total at World Cup final tournaments to 10 goals.

At 41 years old, an age where most professional footballers have long retired, Ronaldo is still scoring goals, breaking records and delivering match defining performances on football's biggest global stage.

With Portugal's campaign at the 2026 World Cup still ongoing, Ronaldo has every opportunity to add further goals and extend this historic record even further.
