The remarkable run of success for Persib Bandung across the past three seasons has now entered a new phase. Bojan Hodak, the central figure behind Maung Bandung's dominance, has officially stepped down from his position as head coach after guiding the club to make historic achievements in Indonesian Football.

While he will no longer occupy the touchline dugout, the Croatian coach has been confirmed to remain a core part of Persib. Club management has assigned Bojan to take on the new role of Shareholder Group Technical Advisor.

This announcement was made public by Persib ahead of Bojan's head coach contract expiry on 31 May 2026.

"After successfully leading Persib to dominate Indonesian football over the last three seasons, Bojan Hodak will vacate the head coach position and assume his new role as Shareholder Group Technical Advisor, helping carry forward this legacy of success for the years ahead," Persib stated via their official Instagram account on Monday.

This role transition marks a major structural transformation for the club. Where Bojan previously focused exclusively on on-field technical operations, he will now oversee Persib's long term strategic planning and act as the official liaison between the club shareholders and the first team squad.

The Shareholder Group Technical Advisor position carries significant responsibility for safeguarding Continuity of the club's development roadmap. Bojan's track record and experience from the past three seasons is regarded as an invaluable asset to keep Persib competitive at the highest tier of Indonesian football.

Since taking charge of Persib in 2023, Bojan Hodak has overseen one of the most dominant eras in the club's entire history. Under his leadership, Maung Bandung lifted three consecutive Indonesian League titles, becoming the first club ever to record a Championship Hat-Trick in the professional football era.

This period of dominance also solidified Bojan's standing as one of the finest foreign coaches ever to work in Indonesia. He additionally received the Indonesian League Coach of the Year award for three straight seasons.

Bojan stepping down as head coach has not left Persib without clear direction. The Bandung based club acted swiftly to appoint Igor Tolic as the new head coach to continue the established project.

Tolic previously served as Persib's assistant coach, and is recognised to have full alignment with the club's playing philosophy and internal culture. His promotion is intended to deliver a seamless transition without disrupting the proven foundations of the championship winning squad.

"After being part of PERSIB's trophy winning journey, Igor Tolic will now step up to lead as head coach, continuing the shared legacy of success that has been built together," Persib's official announcement read.

Igor Tolic's appointment also reflects Persib's priority to protect continuity of their long term development plan. With Bojan remaining involved behind the scenes as technical advisor, Maung Bandung is working to preserve the core identity of their championship winning setup.

This restructuring also demonstrates Persib's progression towards implementing modern professional club governance. Bojan's strategic position at the technical management level is designed to act as a foundation that will allow Persib not only to deliver short term results, but sustain their dominance across multiple future seasons.
