Persib Bandung is choosing the path of stability heading into the second half of the BRI Super League 2025/2026. While many clubs are preparing for major squad overhauls in the transfer market, Maung Bandung will not make significant changes to the player composition that has propelled them to the top of the standings.

Persib coach Bojan Hodak stated that changes to the squad will be limited. The team's main focus is filling gaps left by the departure of several players, not overhauling the foundation established since the start of the season.

Quoted from the official I.League website on Monday, Bojan hinted that Persib might only bring in one or two additional players.

"We made massive changes at the start of the season. I feel there are 1-2 players whose performances we are not happy with, which will lead us to make changes, but not too many. I don't think there will be too many changes," said Bojan.

This move aligns with the current squad situation. Persib Bandung has released one Foreign Player, Wiliam Marcilio, who joined South Korean second-tier club Chungnam Asan. Meanwhile, Rezaldi and Hamra Hehanusa were loaned to Persik Kediri to get more playing time.

After finishing the first half of the competition at the top, Persib now faces the challenge of maintaining their status as league leaders. Squad stability is key, especially as the competition at the top is predicted to intensify.

Bojan emphasized that his team must not be complacent, particularly with pressure from closest competitors like Borneo FC Samarinda, Persija Jakarta, and Malut United FC.

"There will be some (new signings), but I don't think there will be many. Actually, we were the first-round leaders. It's more likely the teams lower in the table that will make a lot of changes. For us, strengthening might be done," explained Bojan.

Currently, Persib Bandung leads the Super League Standings with 38 points from 17 matches, one point ahead of Borneo FC in second place. Their consistency in the first half is the main capital for Maung Bandung to maintain their rhythm for the rest of the season.

The next test will come in week 18, when Persib is scheduled to host PSBS Biak at Gelora Bandung Lautan Api Stadium, Bandung, on Sunday, January 25th at 19:00 WIB. That match will be the first stage for Persib to prove that their choice to maintain the player composition is the right decision.
