Red Bull KTM Factory Racing has entered a new chapter for their MotoGP project. The Austrian manufacturer has officially announced Fabio Di Giannantonio as their new signing, who will partner Alex Marquez starting from the 2027 season.

This announcement represents one of KTM's largest strategic moves in building their long-term competitive structure. Di Giannantonio has signed a multi-year contract, and will compete on the factory specification KTM RC16 machine from the 2027 MotoGP championship onwards.

KTM Motorsport Director Pit Beirer assessed that the Italian rider has matured into one of the most consistent competitors in the premier class over the last few seasons.

"Fabio has clearly elevated himself to become one of the consistently leading riders in MotoGP. There can be no doubt over his raw pace and total commitment to delivering maximum performance," stated KTM Motorsport Director Pit Beirer, as quoted from the official MotoGP website.

According to Beirer, Di Giannantonio's value extends beyond just his on-track speed - his personal character is also considered perfectly aligned with the working philosophy of the Red Bull KTM Factory Racing team.

"He is a strong team player and a great individual, we know he will adapt seamlessly to our Red Bull KTM Factory Racing project," added Beirer.

Di Giannantonio's signing finalises KTM's rider line-up, after the factory team had already secured Alex Marquez ahead of the incoming new MotoGP technical regulations for 2027. This pairing is intended to form the core foundation of KTM's long term MotoGP programme.

This selection by KTM was not made without solid reasoning. Di Giannantonio is currently enjoying the strongest form of his entire MotoGP career. Now entering his fifth season in the premier class, the 27 year old currently sits inside the top three positions of the 2026 MotoGP World Championship standings.

This season he has once again proven himself as a genuine title contender, following his victory at the Catalunya Grand Prix. Before this run, Di Giannantonio claimed his maiden MotoGP win at the 2023 Qatar Grand Prix.

His consistency across the 2026 season has been highly impressive. From the opening 10 rounds, he has collected 3 Grand Prix podiums including one victory, plus an additional 4 Sprint Race podiums. This record places him among the most stable performers on the entire MotoGP grid this season.

Di Giannantonio's career has followed a trajectory of steady, reliable progression. He is one of only a small number of active riders who have secured race victories across all three Grand Prix tiers: Moto3, Moto2 and MotoGP.

He made his full Grand Prix debut in 2016. Two years later he finished as Moto3 championship runner-up, before progressing to Moto2 where he scored a podium during his debut season in the intermediate class. He did not take long to secure race wins in Moto2, before earning promotion to the MotoGP grid for 2022.

He properly established himself as a front running talent during the 2023 season, after taking his first premier class podium in Australia followed by a sensational breakthrough victory at the Qatar Grand Prix. Ever since that point, Di Giannantonio has continued to develop into a consistent competitor at the front of the field.
