Jakarta - Kadek Jayawardana William Dornan, a proud Junior Golfer from Indonesia based in Badung, Bali, has once again achieved an outstanding milestone. Better known publicly as Jaya Dornan, the 17-year-old athlete successfully claimed the A Boys Champion title at the prestigious 2026 The JGS Elite International Championship, hosted at Royale Jakarta Golf Club between 28-30 April 2026.

Jaya secured this victory through consistent performance and unshakable mental fortitude. While he acknowledged his game grew considerably challenging over the final two days where he carded even par, his opening round score of 4 under par was sufficient to lock his position at the top of the Leaderboard.

"I played extremely well on the first day, most of my putts landed successfully. Even though I could not perform at my peak for the last two days, I held my ground and gave absolutely everything to stay in first place," Jaya shared during his appearance on Itsme Podcast hosted by Raisha, recorded live on location at Royale Jakarta Golf Club.

The path of this Golfer, who actively accumulates World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR) points, is notably unusual. Originally a Football Player, Jaya switched to Golf at age 10 during the COVID-19 pandemic. With persistent encouragement from his mother Ratna, who joined him for the podcast interview, Jaya developed a deep love for the sport. To advance his training, in early 2025 Jaya made the bold decision to relocate and attend school at the Black Mountain Golf Club complex in Hua Hin, Thailand, to compete in a higher intensity competitive environment.

Jaya's impressive victory aligns directly with the core mission of The JGS Elite International Championship. This event is not merely a standard Golf Tournament, it forms an integral part of The Junior Golf Series ecosystem built to deliver sustainable long-term athlete development. For the full 2026 season, JGS Indonesia will run 16 tournaments under a unified national points race system.

The entire series will culminate at the 2026 Indonesian Junior Masters, which acts as the official qualifying gateway for domestic champions to access elite global events including the Singapore Junior Masters and NextGen Amateur Tour in Australia. Alongside Jaya, this edition of the JGS Elite Championship crowned winners across all divisions, including Passion Hsu (A Girls), Mavis Chua (B Girls) and Abraraza Adriano Musyanif (B Boys).

With official competition standards aligned with circuits across over 12 countries, this tournament acts as a critical development furnace for emerging talent. For Jaya personally, this trophy represents a vital stepping stone towards his ultimate goals: securing a Division 1 (D1) College Golf scholarship in the United States of America and competing at professional Major championship level.

"Never hesitate to take an opportunity. You will miss 100% of every shot that you never choose to take," the young champion stated to close his account of this victory.
