The Jakarta Provincial Government is participating in the Asia Golf Tourism Convention 2026 at Dusit Thani Pattaya Hotel from March 23-25. This participation forms part of serious efforts to expand the International Tourism market through the Sport Tourism sector.
Through Jakarta's Tourism and Creative Economy Agency, collaborating with the Indonesian Golf Course Owners Association (APLGI), Jakarta carries the major mission of strengthening its competitiveness as a world-class golf Tourist Destination.
Head of Jakarta's Tourism and Creative Economy Agency, Andhika Permata, stated this involvement isn't merely participation but a crucial momentum to affirm Jakarta's position on the global tourism map.

“This annual forum organized by the International Association of Golf Tour Operators or IAGTO serves as a critical platform for Jakarta to expand its reach in the International Tourist market,” he said, quoted from the official website of the Jakarta Provincial Government on Friday.
During the forum, Jakarta's delegation actively conducted business-to-business (B2B) meetings with hundreds of golf tour operators from various countries.
The primary focus was attracting premium tourist segments known for high purchasing power and longer stays.
Jakarta promotes “The Ultimate Urban Golf Experience,” an approach combining international-standard Golf Course facilities with easy access to shopping centers, luxury hotels, and local cultural and culinary richness.
This strategy responds to the Global Tourism Trend increasingly favoring integrated experiences blending sports, business, and entertainment in single destinations.
“Jakarta's presence at AGTC 2026 is a concrete step demonstrating our sport tourism infrastructure readiness. We offer not just golf courses, but a complete urban Tourism Ecosystem where sports, business, and entertainment converge,” he explained.
Collaboration with APLGI also remains key to ensuring globally competitive, high-standard service quality.
Beyond market expansion, Jakarta's participation opens new partnership opportunities with International Tourism industry players, particularly in niche sectors like golf tourism.
Additionally, the Jakarta administration encourages MICE-golf sector integration, creating combined business-exclusive recreation tour packages.
Digitalization efforts for services are also being introduced, facilitating international tourists' access to information and integrated reservations for Jakarta's golf facilities.
“Through AGTC 2026 participation, Jakarta is optimistic about significantly increasing foreign Tourist Visits and accelerating creative economy growth through Sustainable Tourism,” he concluded.
