A green landscape in eastern Scotland is preparing to add a new chapter to the long story of World Golf. Among the rolling hills of Angus, plans for a luxury golf resort titled "Brae of Angus" have emerged as one of the most ambitious Tourism investments in recent years.
Located in the Shank of Omachie area, north and east of Wellbank village, the project is projected to require an investment of around £480 million.
Spanning approximately 310 acres, the development will feature a five-star Luxury Hotel and an 18-hole championship Golf Course. This hotel will be Angus' first five-star hotel.

The project is designed not only as a Sports destination but also as a complete Travel Experience.
Planners state this development will bring economic benefits to the Angus region, while also creating large-scale employment opportunities, from construction to operations and the supply chain.
A formal proposal has been submitted to Angus Council via a Proposal of Application Notice (PAN) document, marking the start of the public consultation process before the submission of a full planning application.
Interestingly, this project stands on the same site as a previous proposal called "The Angus".
"The Angus" is now owned by Angus Land Company Ltd (ALC), part of the private investment firm Mocca Capital, in collaboration with Castle Properties.
ALC describes this latest project as an evolved development tailored to post-pandemic trends and global market needs.
Hyatt International alongside global marketing firm IMG are said to be actively involved in the project's planning through to operations.
Hyatt will manage the hotel and related facilities, while IMG handles the golf Business, events, and other recreational activities.
As a world-class destination, Brae of Angus will offer around 450 tourist accommodation rooms, a full country club with a gym, Padel courts, swimming pool, modern spa, event space, and 185 residential units.
Its Golf Course is designed as a championship layout, previously developed by Scottish designer Graham Webster from Team Niblick.
Additionally, a modern golf academy facility with a driving range and simulation programs will enhance the experience for players of all levels.
The golf club facilities with a restaurant and bar will serve as a social space, where golfers share stories after navigating the fairways of the classic Scottish landscape.
The project's location near Carnoustie, one of the world's most prestigious golf destinations, enhances the area's appeal as a global golf ecosystem hub.
"Located near the world-class golf destination of Carnoustie, Brae of Angus brings together leading global brand operators with a commitment to delivering a truly unique and sustainable resort, which becomes an integral part of the Angus golf destination ecosystem," stated an ALC spokesperson.
If realized, Brae of Angus will not only be a new golf destination but also a symbol of how Scotland's classic landscapes continue to adapt to the modern Tourism world. Blending tradition, luxury, and sustainability in one swing.
