Indonesia's readiness to host the international event enters a crucial phase. Ahead of the FIFA Series 2026, the main spotlight falls on stadium conditions, with the latest inspection showing positive signals.
Minister of Youth and Sports, Erick Thohir, confirmed that Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium and Madya Stadium in Senayan, Jakarta are prepared to welcome the tournament scheduled for March 27 and 30.
During an on-site review at the GBK complex on Wednesday, March 18, Erick focused on the most critical detail in modern Football – pitch quality.

The turf condition of GBK Main Stadium received primary attention to ensure international standards are met.
"So essentially everything is ready (for FIFA Series)?" Erick stated during discussions with PSSI officials while inspecting the field.
Beyond the main stadium, Madya Stadium was also included in the inspection agenda. This venue is projected to serve as the training center for participating teams.
Erick emphasized this event isn't merely a tournament but a test of Indonesia's reputation on the global stage. With FIFA's trust, Indonesia must deliver maximum performance as host.
"We must demonstrate Indonesia's capability as a good host for international events like FIFA. Don't forget to give full support to the Indonesian National Team," he said.
FIFA Series 2026 will feature four cross-confederation nations: Indonesia, Bulgaria, Solomon Islands, and Saint Kitts and Nevis.
The tournament format is concise yet competitive, featuring semifinals followed by finals and a third-place playoff, with each team playing two matches.
Following stadium readiness, the next focus shifts to match execution. If all proceeds as planned, FIFA Series 2026 could become a proving ground – showing Indonesia is ready not just to compete, but to host world-class events.
