Something felt different at Prambanan Temple that Sunday morning. It wasn't just the usual cultural tourism; an atmosphere filled with tranquility, deep breaths, and the gentle flow of meditation instructions blended with the sunrise.

Where tourists and cameras usually bustled, hundreds now sat quietly, eyes closed, seeking inner clarity. This was part of the "Miracle of Mind" meditation program, a collaboration between InJourney Destination Management (IDM) – managing Borobudur, Prambanan, and Ratu Boko – and the Isha Foundation, an international non-profit renowned for its global mental and spiritual wellbeing movement.

"This initiative commemorates World Mental Health Day on October 10, 2025, and serves as a pre-launch series for Samadha, the wellness activities at Borobudur, Prambanan, and Ratu Boko destinations,"
said IDM's Commercial Director, Gistang Richard Panutur, in Sleman, Yogyakarta.

Hundreds of Participants Enjoy Quiet Moments at Historic Site

Held at Rama Shinta Garden Resto within the Prambanan Ramayana Ballet complex, the event was attended by 200 participants from Yogyakarta and surrounding areas, all free of charge. From young professionals and housewives to travelers who came specifically for the temple meditation experience, everyone immersed themselves in the serene yet warm atmosphere.

"This activity aims to collectively raise awareness about the importance of mental health for every individual," Gistang continued.

This program is also part of the Samadha initiative, presented by IDM to develop wellness tourism at Indonesia's heritage destinations. Through programs like this, the travel experience isn't just about seeing physical beauty, but also touching the inner and spiritual side.

Connecting Cultural Heritage with Inner Peace

According to Gistang, Prambanan Temple is not only a symbol of history but also a place with transformative energy for the soul.

"We believe that heritage destinations like Prambanan Temple have profound transformative potential. Miracle of Mind is our initiative to offer inner wellbeing and cultivate peace of mind," he said.

Through collaboration with the Isha Foundation, IDM brings globally recognized wellbeing practices to the local community. This collaboration bridges Indonesian cultural heritage with universal spiritual wisdom – something rarely found at ordinary tourist destinations.

Participants received direct guidance from Suchita Raman, a senior instructor from the Isha Foundation, who taught Isha Kriya and Upa-Yoga techniques, simple yet effective methods for achieving clarity, health, and inner balance.

Meditation Under the Prambanan Morning Sun

As the sun rose on the eastern horizon, participants began meditating with the majestic view of Prambanan Temple before them. Imagine sitting in silence, feeling the morning breeze touch your skin, while mantras and breath slowly guide the mind towards tranquility.

The session then continued in the Trimurti Building, part of the Ramayana Ballet complex, where participants practiced Isha Kriya, a meditation involving elements of total silence. The session concluded with about five minutes of sitting in silence, focusing on the space between the eyebrows, to fully absorb the inner calm.

Wellness Tourism, a Revived New Trend

The Samadha program itself carries deep meaning – a journey of "returning within." Gistang called it an invitation to rediscover inner clarity inspired by the spiritual values of Borobudur, Prambanan, and Ratu Boko.

"In this fast-paced world, peace of mind is not a luxury, but a basic necessity. We hope participants can take home practical techniques enabling them to manage stress, achieve emotional balance, and live life with full joy," said Gistang.

This program also symbolizes how Indonesian tourism is now moving towards more meaningful experiences – not just visual entertainment, but healing and self-balance journeys.

For many young travelers starting to seek meaning behind every journey, activities like Miracle of Mind represent a new form of adventure – not outward, but inward. (Antara)
