The Harapan Kita Heart and Blood Vessel Hospital (RSJPD) Jakarta is collaborating with Tokushukai Medical Group to provide premium healthcare services, particularly in the cardiovascular field. This premium service can be utilized by patients seeking facilities equivalent to world-class hospitals.

This collaboration aims to reduce the number of Indonesia patients who currently opt for treatment abroad.

With continuously enhanced facilities, RSJPD Harapan Kita aims to become the primary national reference for heart disease treatment.

Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin emphasized that service quality now rivals international hospitals.

"Facilities here are now on par with hospitals overseas, so those who usually go abroad can come here. Later, Tokushukai doctors will arrive—specialists and global experts who will practice here. People no longer need to go abroad," stated the Health Minister in Jakarta.

A key innovation in this collaboration is the latest medical robotic technology, the Da Vinci-5 surgical robot. This technology will handle various cardiovascular diseases with high precision.

The Health Minister revealed this advanced robot is scheduled to begin operations in Indonesia by late 2026.

"Tokushukai will provide the most advanced robot called Da Vinci Five, arriving in November 2026. Indonesia hasn't had this technology, so it will serve our patients," he said.

Meanwhile, RSJPD Harapan Kita Director Iwan Dakota assured that premium services won't compromise the hospital's commitment to BPJS Health patients.

"We serve 70-80% BPJS Health patients, but this building will primarily house the private wing above the sixth floor. Floors six and below are exclusively for BPJS—part of efforts to reduce overseas patient flow," Iwan explained.

He added that this partnership opens opportunities for international doctors to practice and share knowledge in Indonesia, including from Japan and China.

This initiative is expected to enhance local medical professionals' competence while expanding cardiac care services.

"They'll practice here regularly under existing regulations. Doctors from China have also requested to practice here. This should reduce patient outflow, while our BPJS patient proportion remains fully served," Iwan stated.

Beyond service quality improvements, hospital capacity has significantly increased.

Through this collaboration, bed capacity rose from approximately 400 to 800, enabling more patients to receive care.

Tokushukai Medical Group CEO Shinichi Higashiue expressed the project's ambition to establish RSJPD Harapan Kita as Asia's leading cardiac education hub.

"This building will deliver the most advanced cardiovascular services, and we aim to make this institution one of Asia's largest heart education and training centers," Shinichi said.

With cutting-edge technology, international doctors, and expanded service capacity, Harapan Kita Heart Hospital is poised to become Indonesia's solution for high-quality cardiac treatment without needing overseas Travel.
