Jakarta International Stadium (JIS) is projected to become a symbol of Jakarta's future. This international-standard stadium is located in a strategic position, adjacent to the Ancol Tourism area and economic activities at Tanjung Priok Port.
DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung Wibowo affirmed his confidence in the future of the area.
"I believe that Jakarta's future lies in this place," he stated during the opening of JIS Ramadhan Festival 2026 in Jakarta.

According to him, JIS's location is crucial as it sits at the convergence of entertainment, economy, and infrastructure in North Jakarta.
Area integration is key to ensuring the stadium doesn't stand alone but becomes part of an interconnected urban ecosystem.
JIS-Ancol Integration to Address Congestion
One major issue during Football matches or Music concerts at JIS is traffic gridlock.
Therefore, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government through PT Jakarta Propertindo (Jakpro) constructed a Pedestrian Bridge (JPO) connecting the stadium to Ancol.
With this JPO, spectators can park vehicles in Ancol which has large parking capacity.
This scheme is expected to alleviate traffic density around the stadium during major events.
"This will solve the frequent congestion during stadium events," he explained.
Besides private vehicle access, Public Transportation is also prioritized. A dedicated KRL station will be built beneath the stadium, connected to downtown stations.
This infrastructure aims to serve spectators from across Jakarta.
Betawi Philosophy in Modern Design
Jakpro stated the JIS-Ancol JPO incorporates Betawi local wisdom philosophy, inspired by traditional Betawi headbands.
"The JPO design draws from Betawi headbands symbolizing unity, Gigi Balang ornaments representing honesty and courage, and tiger-stripe patterns denoting strength," said Iwan Takwin, President Director of PT Jakarta Propertindo (Perseroda).
This approach ensures visual harmony while affirming Jakarta's identity as a modern global city rooted in local values.
"The JPO adopts the stadium's core visual elements, creating seamless spatial flow from JIS to Ancol's coastline," he added.
At night, integrated lighting synchronized with stadium lights will create an iconic visual landmark in North Jakarta.
Multifunctional Stadium for Jakartans
Pramono emphasized JIS was built not just for Football but also international-scale concerts and entertainment.
"JIS is a source of pride—an international stadium for broad public use by Jakartans," he declared.
With proximity to Ancol and Tanjung Priok, JIS is positioned as a hub for Sports, entertainment, and economic activities. This integrated development aims to establish North Jakarta as a new urban growth axis.
