The financial power map of Southeast Asian Football shifted in the second half of the 2025/2026 Season. Two Indonesian Super League clubs, Persib Bandung and Persija Jakarta, entered the list of the 10 most expensive ASEAN clubs by market value.
Data from Transfermarkt places Johor Darul Ta'zim as the club with the highest market value in the region. This Malaysian club has a value of 15.95 million Euros, equivalent to Rp277 billion.
Johor displaced Buriram United. At the start of the 2025/2026 Season, this Thai club was the team with the highest market value.

Indonesia Sends Two Representatives
At the start of the season, only one Indonesian club was on the list, Dewa United. After the transfer window, Dewa was pushed out and replaced by two legendary clubs, Persib Bandung and Persija Jakarta.
Persib sits in fourth place with a market value of around Rp144 billion. Meanwhile, Persija is in eighth place with a market value of around Rp125 billion.
Boldness in the transfer market became a key factor. In this season's transfer window, Persib and Persija were indeed splashing the cash on transfers.
One player brought in by Persib is former PSG player Layvin Kurzawa. Meanwhile, Persija secured Jean Motta.
These aggressive moves boosted squad valuations and underscored both clubs' ambitions at the domestic and regional level.
Vietnam and Thailand Hit Hard
Besides Dewa United, another ASEAN club knocked off the list was Ha Noi FC. This Vietnamese club can no longer compete with Nam Dinh FC and Cong An Ha Noi.
The list of the 10 most expensive ASEAN clubs by market value only features five countries. The breakdown is: Malaysia, Vietnam, and Indonesia each with two clubs, Thailand with three clubs, and Singapore with one club.
The only Singaporean club on this list is Lion City Sailors. Recently, Lion City brought in former Iraqi National Team Coach, Spaniard Jesus Casas.
A Mirror of ASEAN Club Ambition
This surge in market value is not just a number; it reflects the investment, recruitment strategies, and ambition of ASEAN clubs to compete on the Asian stage.
Malaysia still leads through Johor Darul Ta'zim, Thailand remains strong, Vietnam is trying to hold on, while Indonesia shows a significant leap through Persib and Persija.
The second half of this season is not just about trophy contention, but also about who is most prepared financially and structurally to dominate the region.
