Big ambitions are enveloping Arsenal in the 2025-2026 season. The Gunners are still competing in four competitions and have a chance to make history by achieving a quadruple.

However, amidst this positive momentum, their manager, Mikel Arteta, has actually dampened expectations. The Spanish coach admitted he is not overly optimistic his team can sweep all four titles this season.

Arsenal have the opportunity to win the Premier League title, Champions League, Carabao Cup, and the FA Cup.

In domestic competition, the North London club sits firmly atop the standings with 57 points from 26 matches. They hold a four-point lead over their closest rival, Manchester City, who have gathered 53 points from the same number of games.

Arsenal's performance in Europe has also been impressive. They swept all eight of their Champions League group stage matches and advanced to the Round of 16 with a perfect record.

In the Carabao Cup, the North London club has reached the final and will once again face Manchester City on March 22, 2026.

Meanwhile, in the FA Cup, Arsenal dominated after thrashing Wigan Athletic 4-0, securing their place in the fifth round.

Injuries Sound the Alarm

Although the situation on paper looks ideal, Arteta believes his team's condition is far from safe. An injury crisis poses a serious threat during this crucial phase of the season.

Four players are confirmed sidelined: Mikel Merino, Kai Havertz, Martin Odegaard, and Riccardo Calafiori. Calafiori even suffered a physical problem during the warm-up before the match against Wigan.

The crisis initially hit the forward line but has now spread to the defense and midfield sectors.

Arteta spoke out about the situation.

"Especially because we are experiencing (injuries). Previously the forwards, then the defenders, now the midfielders," said Arteta.

"We are still trying to manage that, but we need several players to return to fitness."

"(The return of players) is not just about numbers, but also about having different options to face the opponents we encounter, so the sooner the better," he concluded.

Odegaard Closest to Comeback

From the list of Injured Players, Arteta stated that only Martin Odegaard has a chance of returning relatively soon. The creative midfielder from Norway suffered a knee injury when Arsenal drew 1-1 against Brentford.

Meanwhile, the conditions of Calafiori and Havertz are still under medical evaluation. Arteta could not confirm when they will be ready to play again.

As for Merino, he faces the toughest situation. A stress fracture in his foot forced him to undergo surgery. The Spanish midfielder is not expected back until the tail end of the 2025-2026 season.

With a packed schedule and fierce competition across four different competitions, squad consistency will be key. Without adequate squad depth, Arsenal's chance to make history could be threatened.
