A heavy mission awaits Persib Bandung, but Federico Barba remains optimistic. The Italian defender believes Maung Bandung still has a chance to turn things around when hosting Ratchaburi FC in the second leg of the AFC Champions League Two (ACL II).
The decisive match will be held at Gelora Bandung Lautan Api Stadium, Bandung City, on Wednesday night, February 18, 2026. Persib carries the burden of a 0-3 defeat from the first leg at Ratchaburi Stadium, Na Muang.
“We are fortunate to have another match at home where we are very strong. Now we return with the mentality that anything is still possible. So see you in Bandung,” stated Barba in Bandung on Friday.

Last week's loss in Thailand was a heavy blow. Two goals by Pedro Tana and one by Gabriel Mutombo secured a convincing home victory. However, Barba insists the scoreline doesn't absolutely reflect Persib's quality on the pitch.
He believes his team actually created several opportunities. The problem was that fundamental errors became the decisive factor in an Asian-level competition.
“We had chances and we also talk about quality. I think we made too many mistakes in this match, which shouldn't happen in a game like this,” he said.
Now, the equation is simple yet challenging. Persib must win by at least four goals to secure a ticket to the ACL II Quarter Final.
A three-goal margin would force extra time, while a smaller difference means elimination.
Amid this pressure, Barba highlights one key factor: playing at home. Throughout this season, Persib has appeared more aggressive and solid when playing in Bandung.
“The home match will be different. We're very strong here, we know it, and we'll perform excellently. So we still believe and are confident we can overturn the situation,” he emphasized.
The atmosphere at Gelora Bandung Lautan Api Stadium is predicted to be crucial. Full support from Bobotoh could provide extra energy in chasing the three-goal deficit.
Tactically, Persib must display more defensive discipline while being efficient upfront. With no room for error, every opportunity must be maximized.
This match isn't just about strategy but also mentality. Persib needs a blend of attacking courage and precise transition management to avoid being punished by counter-attacks like in the first leg.
Wednesday night will be Persib's biggest test on the Asian stage: carving out a historic comeback or ending their ACL II journey.
