Bogor – The area of Palm Hill Golf Club, Sentul, was suddenly bustling last Weekend. Not from the clinks of golf clubs, but from the cheers of athletes and celebrities trying to conquer the green field in a different way. On Saturday (2/5/2026), the Indonesian Footgolf Federation successfully held the Indonesia Footgolf Cup 2026, which now appears larger and much more crowded than in previous years.

Since noon at 12:30 PM Western Indonesia Time, the atmosphere on the field already felt "heated". A total of 90 participants—doubling last year's number—gathered to compete for total prizes worth Rp60 million. Interestingly, this event wasn't only dominated by local players. There were more than 20 players from Malaysia and several players from South Korea who flew specifically to Sentul to take on the challenge at Palm Hill Golf Club.

Enthusiasm Exceeding Expectations
The Chairman of the Indonesian Footgolf Federation, Amrit Punjabi, looked pleased to see this development. According to him, the surge in the number of participants is proof that Footgolf is no longer just a side Sport. "With this increase in participants, our next focus is to align the tournament with FIFG international standards," he said.

One interesting story came from Mi-So Keum, a female athlete from South Korea. Used to competing in Malaysia, she admitted she was surprised by the enthusiasm in Indonesia. Mi-So hoped her presence could spark interest among female futsal players in Indonesia to also venture onto the Footgolf field which has a broader scope.

Surprises on the Field: From Celebrities to Malaysian Dominance
The tournament, which took place in 31 flights, also featured familiar faces. There was Valentino 'Jebret' Simanjuntak to Bams Samson who are now starting to seriously pursue this sport. Although present as Public Figures, on the field they still had to compete strategically with experienced players like Imam Fauzy Rahmawan.

Competition in the main category was fierce until the afternoon. Athletes from Malaysia showed their class by dominating the professional category. Additionally, new history was made with the emergence of a playing group entirely filled by women, a major step for the federation in promoting inclusivity in this sport.
