Indonesia's women's doubles pair Janice Tjen / Aldila Sutjiadi have had their 2026 Wimbledon run ended in the second round. They were unable to progress further after falling to the duo Marta Kostyuk / Elena-Gabriela Ruse in a tight match held at the All England Club, London, on Saturday 4 July 2026.
Janice and Aldila conceded in straight sets with a scoreline of 4-6, 6-7(8), after putting up a fight across 1 hour and 49 minutes. The defeat was ultimately decided by a dramatic tie-break in the second set.
Right from the start of the match, the Indonesian pair showed promising form. Janice / Aldila immediately took an early 2-0 lead in the first set. However, Kostyuk and Ruse fought back to claim five consecutive games and turn the momentum around.

Janice / Aldila managed to narrow the gap to 4-5. Unfortunately, the Romanian-Ukrainian pair held their serve in the final game to close out the first set 6-4.
Heading into the second set, Kostyuk / Ruse came out aggressive once more. They broke their opponents' serve immediately to establish a 3-0 lead. Despite this, Janice and Aldila displayed their never-say-die spirit to level the score at 3-3, before going on to take a 4-3 advantage.
The match grew even tighter as it entered the critical phase. With Kostyuk / Ruse leading 5-4, they earned multiple match point opportunities. However, Janice / Aldila successfully saved every single one of these chances to force the score to 5-5.
The match was ultimately decided via a tie-break. Janice / Aldila had held the advantage at one point, but Kostyuk / Ruse levelled the score at 8-8 before taking the final two points, closing out the tie-break 10-8 and securing their victory.
Statistically, this was a very evenly matched contest. Kostyuk / Ruse only held a narrow edge in total points won, finishing the match with 83 points compared to 78 recorded by Janice / Aldila.
The Indonesian pair were more effective on first serve. Janice / Aldila landed 49 out of 78 first serves, recording a 63% success rate. Meanwhile, Kostyuk / Ruse only landed 46 of their 83 first serves for a 55% conversion rate.
On top of that, Janice / Aldila also showed greater discipline, committing just nine unforced errors. This figure is lower than the 14 unforced errors tallied by the opposing pair of Kostyuk and Ruse.
This result also brings an end to Janice Tjen's 2026 Wimbledon campaign, as she had previously also been eliminated in the second round of the women's singles draw.
Aldila Sutjiadi meanwhile still has a chance to advance further in the tournament. She has secured her place in the last 16 of the mixed doubles draw, partnering Argentinian player Guido Andreozzi.
