According to a study, Singapore outperforms other major cities thanks to a rare combination of green spaces, quality healthcare services, clean air, and high happiness levels.

This research from Irish travel company Holafly compared 50 cities based on several key indicators. The indicators used included air quality, number of parks, hours of sunshine, happiness levels, and traffic congestion.

The result? Singapore secured second place, only behind San Diego, United States (US).

Garden City Isn't Just a Nickname

As reported by VN Express, Singapore boasts over 240 parks, 698 healthcare centers, and more than 2,000 hours of sunshine annually.

Imagine, amidst the modern city, residents can still enjoy green spaces and fresh air. 

This is proof that Singapore isn't just a "Garden City" in slogan, but in reality.

Unsurprisingly, this neighbor of Indonesia also achieved the highest score for happiness levels, reflecting the quality of life of its citizens.

Known for meticulous urban planning and strict regulations against litter, Singapore is consistently ranked as one of the cleanest cities in the world.

According to a recent The Economist report, Singapore was named the world's second richest country in terms of GDP per capita, after Switzerland.

In the Holafly list, San Diego, United States, took the top spot. This coastal city has 266 parks and nature reserves, plus 3,054.6 hours of sunshine per year – almost without winter.

Meanwhile, Vienna, Austria, secured third place. This city is known for its clean air and has some of the best air quality in Europe.

Following Vienna are Sydney (Australia), Melbourne (Australia), Berlin (Germany), Auckland (New Zealand), Portland (US), Rome (Italy), and Helsinki (Finland).
