For those of you preparing for vacation to Singapore, there's one important thing you shouldn't ignore: don't bring electronic cigarettes or vapes.
Recently, local authorities have become increasingly serious about enforcing regulations regarding the vape ban. The Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA) has tightened inspections at all entry points, from airports, seaports, to land borders.
This step isn't merely a formality. Inspections are conducted thoroughly, and anyone caught carrying a vape could immediately face legal consequences.

As reported by The Straits Times, the Singapore government has reaffirmed that vaping activities are entirely prohibited in its territory. This rule applies to everyone without exception, including tourists.
"Anyone found possessing, using, or buying electronic cigarettes will face heavier penalties," the agency emphasized.
This rule isn't just an ordinary ban. Singapore is known for its strict regulations, and violations could seriously impact your trip. For tourists, repeated violations could lead to entry denial on future visits.
For holders of long-term passes like workers or students, the risks are even greater. If violations occur up to three times, the residence permit could be revoked without compromise, accompanied by deportation and potential blacklisting.
Interestingly, as a precaution for tourists who might be unaware of this rule, the airport provides special disposal bins for vapes before entering Singapore. This facility is available at Changi Airport, the main international gateway.
For travelers, this rule serves as an important reminder that every destination has regulations that must be respected. Vacation isn't just about itineraries and photo spots, but also about understanding local rules to keep your journey safe and comfortable.
So before packing, ensure you double-check your luggage. Because in Singapore, a small thing like a vape can become a big problem.
