Anthony Sinisuka Ginting turned a new page in 2026 with one simple goal: rediscovering his best rhythm. After enduring a challenging 2025 season due to Injury, Indonesia’s top men’s singles player is now rebuilding his performance, starting at home during the Indonesia Masters 2026.

Last year proved unkind to Ginting. A shoulder injury at the 2025 French Open forced him into rehabilitation more often than onto the court.

The impact was clear—his world ranking plummeted to 76th. Yet as the new season began, the 29-year-old arrived with restored physical fitness and renewed mental strength.

"2025 wasn’t easy for me. There were many trials, and things weren’t smooth. So when 2026 arrived, I reflected on what 2025 had been. This is the path I must take—you could say starting from scratch again," Ginting explained during a press conference at Istora Senayan, Jakarta, on Tuesday.

The 2026 Indonesia Masters marks Ginting’s season opener. Though initially haunted by self-doubt after his prolonged absence from tournaments, the home crowd’s support energized the Tokyo 2020 Olympic silver medalist.

Competing on home soil, Ginting experienced an unexpected atmosphere, even during the qualifying rounds.

"It was beyond my expectations. Usually, early qualifying days don’t Draw big crowds, but today was packed. Maybe because Daihatsu Indonesia Masters 2026 tickets are more affordable, making it attractive for badminton fans to attend live," said Ginting.

On court, Ginting responded decisively. He advanced to the main draw after defeating Thailand’s Kantaphon Wangcharoen 21-12, 21-7.

While this victory doesn’t immediately signal Ginting’s return to peak form, it clearly marks the beginning of his resurgence.
