Paris Saint-Germain concluded the 2024/25 season in the most perfect way. The capital club of France officially made history after successfully winning six trophies in a single season, following their triumph in the 2025 Intercontinental Cup. This achievement confirms PSG as the most dominant force in World Football in 2025.
PSG's sixth title was secured after defeating the South American representative, Flamengo, via a dramatic 2-1 penalty shootout in the final at Ahmad bin Ali Stadium, Al Rayyan, Doha, Qatar, early Thursday, December 18, 2025 WIB (Western Indonesian Time). Both teams had to endure a tight duel for 120 minutes before the winner was decided from the penalty spot.
PSG's collective success went hand in hand with individual recognition. On a personal level, Luis Enrique was named FIFA Best Men's Coach 2025, while Ousmane Dembele won the Best Player award. These accolades further confirmed the dominance of PSG's project this season, both tactically and in terms of individual quality.

In the final match, PSG actually took an early lead through Fabian Ruiz in the 18th minute. However, the goal was disallowed after VAR review because the ball was ruled to have gone out of play before the goal occurred.
PSG finally took the lead in the 38th minute. Khvicha Kvaratskhelia capitalized on a pass from Desire Doue that Flamengo goalkeeper Agustin Rossi failed to intercept. The goal from the Georgian winger gave PSG a 1-0 lead going into halftime.
Flamengo rallied in the second half and equalized in the 62nd minute. Jorginho executed his duty as the penalty taker perfectly, deceiving Matvey Safonov after the referee pointed to the spot due to a foul by Marquinhos on Giorgian De Arrascaeta in the penalty area. The 1-1 scoreline held until the end of normal time.
In extra time, the duel became even more open. PSG nearly secured victory through Quentin Ndjantou in the 107th minute, but his shot only hit the post. Chances from Ousmane Dembele and Nuno Mendes also failed to produce a goal by the end of 120 minutes.
The match was then decided by a penalty shootout. In this crucial moment, Matvey Safonov emerged as the hero. The PSG goalkeeper saved four penalties from Flamengo players, securing a 2-1 shootout victory for PSG and clinching the 2025 Intercontinental Cup title.
This trophy became the crowning glory of PSG's extraordinary season. Previously, they had collected the Ligue 1 title, Coupe de France, Trophée des Champions (French Super Cup), Champions League, and UEFA Super Cup. Only one trophy eluded PSG, the Club World Cup, after being defeated by Chelsea in the final.
