The victory of Malut United FC over Persib Bandung has instead left a stain. Malut United management strongly condemns the hateful and racist comments directed at Yance Sayuri on social media following their team's 2-0 win against Persib Bandung in the Super League continuation on December 14th.
The spotlight is now no longer just on the match result, but on a serious issue that once again injures the face of Indonesian football.
Malut United's Deputy Manager, Asghar Saleh, stated that the attacks were allegedly carried out due to dissatisfaction with the match result. He believes this action tarnishes the sporting values that should be upheld.

"The attacks were allegedly carried out by certain Persib Bandung supporters after the Malut United vs Persib match; this is deeply regrettable," Asghar Saleh told Antara on Tuesday, December 16, 2025.
Asghar called for an active role from the coordinator of Persib Bandung supporters, the Bobotoh, to discipline individuals who often engage in disgraceful actions in the digital public space. He emphasized that the voice of the majority of supporters should be a bulwark against racism.
Furthermore, Malut United management views the racist attack against Yance Sayuri as not an isolated incident. Asghar stated that this behavior has been repeated, even targeting Yakob Sayuri as well, and is absolutely intolerable in professional football.
"Racist attacks against Yance and also Yakob Sayuri have occurred repeatedly," he said.
Criticism was also directed at PSSI, the Indonesian football federation. Asghar questioned the federation's stance, which he deemed lacking firmness, even though similar cases have been reported to the police.
"We have reported it to the police, but until now the federation appears silent. There has been no action whatsoever," said Asghar.
Yance Sayuri became the target of racist comments on his Instagram account after the Malut United match against Persib Bandung.
The attacks surfaced after Yance was involved in an incident with the Persib captain, Marc Klok, in the 38th minute.
Klok committed a foul against Yance, who then reacted emotionally and briefly showed a gesture indicating he wanted to hit his teammate on the Indonesian national team.
Malut United management hopes similar incidents do not happen again. They urge all parties, from the federation, clubs, to supporter groups, to work together to eradicate racism for the sake of a healthier future for national football.
Support also came from former Indonesian national team players. Boaz Salossa stressed that rejecting racism must be a collective movement, not just a slogan.
"I invite all players, supporters, and for the sake of humanity, let's reject racism in football," said Boaz.
Echoing this sentiment, Rahmat Rivai viewed the racism case affecting Yance and Yakob Sayuri as a serious problem demanding real commitment from the federation.
"As a former football player, I condemn and challenge all forms of racism, especially calling for commitment from the federation to act firmly against individuals spreading racism. Let's maintain the spirit of tolerance in the world of football," he stated.
