The pressure is now on Persib Bandung after Borneo FC seized the top spot in the provisional standings of the Super League Indonesia 2025/2026. This situation forces Maung Bandung to secure a victory when visiting the headquarters of Bhayangkara Presisi Lampung FC at Sumpah Pemuda PKOR Way Halim Stadium on Thursday, April 30.

Borneo FC applied the pressure first after defeating Persik Kediri 1-0 at Brawijaya Stadium. Koldo Obieta's solitary goal in the 55th minute was enough to lift Pesut Etam to the summit of the Standings with 69 points, three points clear of Persib.

Persib's coach, Bojan Hodak, acknowledged the importance of this match and emphasized his team's readiness.

"They (Bhayangkara) are a dangerous team, but we've prepared thoroughly and are ready to achieve a positive result in the upcoming match," he stated in Bandarlampung.

Persib is confirmed to adopt an attacking approach, relying on chance creation.

"Certainly, looking at previous match statistics, we generated 29 shots and numerous opportunities through varied attacks. Now it's about How players implement these instructions," he explained.

However, Hodak highlighted Bhayangkara's counter-attacking threat as his primary concern.

"The opponent is currently in competitive form after the first round. Their main strength lies in this dangerous counter-attacking scheme we must be wary of," he added.

Bhayangkara has grown more solid with the addition of players like Doumbia and Muossa Sidibe.

"But Persib is also a strong team with quality players. They'll certainly be cautious of us too," Hodak concluded.

In the home camp, coach Paul Munster affirmed his squad's full preparedness.

"Our team is currently battle-ready, both physically and mentally," he declared.

Munster views this fixture as a major test for his side.

"Tomorrow is a Big Match for us and extremely important," he emphasized.

He even labeled Persib as one of the league's strongest teams this season.

"As we know, Persib is currently the strongest team in the league. We've analyzed them during training sessions, and players already know their responsibilities," Munster noted.

According to Munster, the match hinges on focus and minimizing errors.

"Players must stay focused and limit individual mistakes. We have our own strengths too. We've prepared a strategy to win this match," he asserted.

With Borneo FC applying pressure from the top, this match becomes crucial in the title race. Persib has little margin for error to keep their Championship hopes alive this season.
