The Indonesian Football Association (PSSI) has officially announced the 23-player squad for the Indonesia U22 national team competing in the 2025 SEA Games. This announcement concludes a lengthy selection process, resulting in a final roster featuring top domestic and overseas-based players.
Under public scrutiny, the decision to include 23 players marks a significant shift from the 2023 SEA Games format which limited teams to 20 players.

The squad comprises three goalkeepers, eight defenders, six midfielders, and six forwards. Several Indonesia internationals playing abroad are included: Dion Markx, Ivar Jenner, Mauro Zijlstra, and Marselino Ferdinan.
Marselino stands out not only as an overseas-based player but also as one of only three remaining members from the gold medal-winning 2023 squad.
Alongside Marselino, fellow U22 players Muhammad Ferarri and Ananda Raehan also secured gold medals at the 2023 SEA Games.
Bali United Dominates Squad Representation
Among domestic clubs, Bali United contributes the most players with three selections: Kadek Arel, Jens Raven, and Rahmat Arjuna. This dominance highlights the club's significant contribution to youth development.
Thailand Bound: Major Mission Begins
The U22 team is scheduled to depart for Thailand on Friday, November 28, 2025. Preparations will take place in Chiang Mai, the primary venue for the Garuda Muda's group stage matches during the 2025 SEA Games.
Indonesia is drawn in Group C alongside Singapore, Philippines, and Myanmar. The U22 team opens its campaign against Singapore on December 5, faces Philippines on December 8, and concludes group play against Myanmar on December 12. All Indonesia U22 matches will be held in Chiang Mai.
High Optimism Ahead of Kickoff
With an expanded squad, comprehensive regeneration, and inclusion of experienced overseas-based players, the Indonesia U22 team carries substantial expectations into the tournament.
