The Indonesian U22 National Team affirmed their full readiness to compete in the men's football event of the 2025 SEA Games in Thailand. Coach Indra Sjafri confirmed all players have assembled and the squad composition is complete. This signals Garuda Muda's optimal condition heading into their opening match against the Philippines.

“As of today, our 23-player squad meets regulatory requirements. We're in training camp and will relocate to Chiang Mai on December 6th. Players are prepared for the first match on December 8th and the second on December 12th,” stated Indra via PSSI's official release.

Indonesia is grouped in Group C with Myanmar and the Philippines. The format changed after Cambodia's withdrawal from the competition, resulting in Singapore's relocation to Group A.

This adjustment means Garuda Muda will now play only two qualifying matches instead of the originally scheduled three.

“Originally three matches, now reduced to two. This benefits us, including the first match's postponement from December 5th to 8th. The changes allow better preparation time,” Indra explained.

Indonesia U22's debut match will occur on December 8, 2025 against the Philippines at 18:00 WIB at Chiang Mai's 700th Anniversary Stadium.

With the finalized squad, Garuda Muda's preparations are deemed increasingly refined ahead of this group-stage determining duel.

However, one significant roster change occurred. Midfielder Marselino Ferdinan (AS Trencin) was ruled out due to injury.

Indra Sjafri confirmed coordination with the club and a mutual decision against rushing the player's return.

“Marselino's current injury led us to prioritize his future. We agreed he shouldn't join and should focus on recovery first,” Indra stated.

As replacement, Indra called up Rifqi Ray (Persik Kediri), who has begun training with the team. Rifqi's inclusion completes the 23-player roster per SEA Games 2025 regulations.
