Arsenal once again showed their sharpness in Europe. The Gunners thrashed Bayern Munich 3-1 during matchday five of the 2025/26 Champions League at Emirates Stadium, early Thursday morning WIB on November 27, 2025. This victory simultaneously confirms The Gunners as the only unbeaten team in this season's competition.

This heated match became a stage for Arsenal's dominance as they delivered clinically when chances arose. They took the lead through Jurrien Timber's goal before Lennart Karl scored Bayern's equalizer. However, additional goals from Noni Madueke and Gabriel Martinelli secured the win for Mikel Arteta's team.

This defeat tasted bitter for Bayern. For the first time in the 2025/26 Champions League, the German giants suffered a loss. Meanwhile, Arsenal surged firmly to the top of the standings with 15 points from five matches. Bayern dropped to fourth place with 12 points.

Arsenal Appear Efficient, Bayern Stifled at Emirates

The match was intense from the start. Bayern dominated possession in the first 15 minutes, but Arsenal's pressing frustrated them and prevented dangerous threats.

Amid the pressure, Arsenal stole a goal in the 22nd minute. From a corner scheme, Jurrien Timber headed the ball. The Emirates crowd roared.

The momentum nearly continued when Eberechi Eze broke through and created a chance in the 30th minute, but his pass wasn't converted by Bukayo Saka.

Bayern didn't stay idle. Two minutes later, Serge Gnabry escaped the offside trap and delivered a cross that Lennart Karl finished into a goal.

Arsenal received bad news when Leandro Trossard was withdrawn due to injury.

The 1-1 score lasted until halftime.

Second Half Belongs to Arsenal

After the break, Arsenal appeared far more aggressive. Saka created a golden opportunity but his shot was saved by Manuel Neuer. Bayern tried to respond, yet Arsenal's defensive organization remained disciplined.

In the 69th minute, Emirates erupted again. Riccardo Calafiori delivered a low cross that Noni Madueke, Trossard's substitute, volleyed home. 2-1 Arsenal back in front.

Eight minutes later, The Gunners ended Bayern's resistance. A fatal error by Neuer rushing too far from goal was exploited by Gabriel Martinelli to steer the ball into an empty net, making it 3-1.

Bayern, having lost their rhythm, couldn't recover. Until the match ended, they failed to create significant chances to reduce the deficit.
