Sweeping all 6 matches, England becomes the first European team to qualify for the 2026 World Cup.
From the opening minutes, Germany's pressure gave Slovakia no breathing room. In the 18th minute, Nick Woltemade started the party with a clinical finish after receiving Joshua Kimmich's precise pass. Slovakia tried to respond through David Duris' attempt, but Oliver Baumann alertly parried the threat.
Afterwards, the match felt one-sided. In the 29th minute, Serge Gnabry doubled the score, maximizing Leon Goretzka's delivery.
Within just five minutes, Leroy Sané made it 4-0 with two quick-fire goals in the 36th and 41st minutes.
The second half changed little. Die Mannschaft kept pressing and forced Slovakia into deep defense. Ridle Baku put his name on the scoresheet in the 67th minute after capitalizing on Gnabry's pass, before Assan Ouedraogo completed the 6-0 rout by converting Sané's assist in the 79th minute.
No comeback, no drama—just total German dominance.
Netherlands Thrashes Lithuania: Total Football Coming of Age
Meanwhile at Johan Cruijff ArenA in Amsterdam, spectators witnessed how the Netherlands concluded their qualification with near-absolute control of the game.
Dominance from the first minute, relentless high intensity, and four goals propelled them to top Group G with 20 points from eight matches.
Tijjani Reijnders opened the scoring in the 16th minute with a measured strike that set the tone for the Netherlands' aggressive tempo. Virgil van Dijk's header threatened shortly after but was saved by Edvinas Gertmonas, before Reijnders' second chance hit the post.
However, the additional goal was only a matter of time. Entering the second half, the Dutch played more efficiently. Cody Gakpo's penalty in the 58th minute made it 2-0.
Two minutes later, Xavi Simons created the third goal thanks to Gakpo's well-timed pass. Donyell Malen completed the scoring in the 62nd minute through a brilliant solo effort that left Gertmonas helpless.
Despite being four goals up, the Netherlands didn't ease the pressure. Attacks kept flowing, rhythm remained consistent, and Lithuania could only try to limit further damage until the match ended 4-0.
Two European Giants Head to 2026 World Cup
Germany and the Netherlands may be in different groups, but the atmosphere was identical—dominance, tactical maturity, and promising attacking efficiency. These two European giants qualified in convincing fashion.
Germany emerged as a crushing machine with renewed energy under Julian Nagelsmann. The Netherlands showcased a new generation's total football, orchestrated by young talents like Gakpo, Simons, and Reijnders.
