Jakarta is preparing to become a grand stage for world golf through the Jakarta International Championship (JAKIC) 2025, taking place from October 2-5, 2025.
Among the 150 elite golfers set to compete, one of the most attention-grabbing names is Anthony Kim, the flamboyant American player who is now rediscovering his game rhythm.
"Now I'm at a point where I feel more comfortable on the course, and I believe good results are just ahead of me," said Anthony Kim during a press conference in Jakarta on Wednesday, October 1, 2025.

Anthony Kim is no ordinary name in the golf world. The public still remembers his exploits as a hero at the 2008 Ryder Cup, where he shone brilliantly and was instrumental in the United States team's victory. In fact, during his golden era, he reached world number six ranking in that same year.
However, his career journey came to an abrupt halt. For 12 years, Anthony was absent from the competitive scene.
Only last season did he decide to return. However, he admitted his performance hasn't been entirely stable yet.
Now, at the age of 40, Anthony arrives in Jakarta with renewed optimism.
The JAKIC 2025 event is a golden opportunity for him to compete and prove that he still possesses the qualities required at the highest level.
"I've experienced periods where I felt like a world-class player, and there were also periods where I felt like I had no idea what I was doing. But that's natural after not playing golf for 12 years," he said.
This admission actually shows the human side of a star. But Anthony no longer has doubts.
He feels his physical condition is now much better, and that is a major asset for bringing out all his best abilities.
"As long as I can stay healthy, I believe I will have many opportunities to win in the future," said the golfer who once finished in the top three at the 2010 US Masters.
His participation certainly adds a distinct flavor to the Jakic 2025 event, which for the first time is included in the International Series calendar, the premium series of the Asian Tour that offers a direct pathway to the LIV Golf League.(Antara)
Besides Anthony, the tournament will also feature other LIV Golf stars like Ollie Schniederjans, who recently secured an impressive victory in India earlier this year.
The host country, Indonesia, is not standing still. Several talented young golfers such as Kevin Caesario Akbar and Gabriel Hansel Hari are ready to gain valuable experience by competing against the world's big names.
For Anthony Kim, this stage is not just about the score, but also about the long journey from fame, down periods, to resurgence.
In Jakarta, he comes not just to reminisce, but with a determination to compete again among the world's elite.(Antara)
