Jakarta will be a crucial stage for Anthony Kim's return. The American LIV Golf star is determined to showcase his best performance at the Jakarta International Championship (Jakic) 2025, held from October 2–5, 2025.

“I'm now at a point where I feel more comfortable on the course, and I'm confident great results are within reach,” stated Anthony Kim during a press conference in Jakarta on Wednesday, October 1, 2025.

Anthony Kim's name has resurfaced since his comeback to professional competition. He once became a global golf icon after playing a pivotal role in securing the US team's victory at the 2008 Ryder Cup. Now, at 40 years old, he'll compete in his second professional season at Jakic 2025.

The Long Road to Comeback

Anthony previously peaked in his career by reaching world number six in 2008 and securing third place at the 2010 US Masters Tournament. However, injuries and health issues forced him away from the golf stage for 12 years.

Last season, during his first year back in competition, Anthony admitted his performance was inconsistent.

“I've had periods where I felt like a world-class player, but also moments where I completely lost my way. That's normal after not playing golf for 12 years,” he explained.

Now, with improved physical conditioning, Anthony carries high optimism.

“As long as I stay healthy, I believe there will be many opportunities to win in the future,” he emphasized.

Prestigious Event in Jakarta

Jakic 2025 itself marks a special milestone. The tournament debuts on the International Series calendar, a premium Asian Tour circuit that serves as a pathway to the LIV Golf League.

150 international golfers will compete, including Indonesian representatives. Alongside Anthony Kim, other LIV Golf stars like Ollie Schniederjans will participate. From Indonesia, talented young golfers including Kevin Caesario Akbar and Gabriel Hansel Hari are ready to test their skills against world elites.

For Anthony Kim, the Jakarta stage could prove his comeback transcends nostalgia and represents a tangible step toward reclaiming top-level competitiveness.
