Tiger Woods has not played in a competitive tournament since The Open Championship 2024 due to persistent injuries. However, the legend's absence hasn't stopped the golf world from speculating about his next move. Rumors now suggest Tiger's comeback might occur not on the PGA Tour but on the PGA Tour Champions after he turns 50 on December 30.
Interestingly, the PGA Tour Champions is fully prepared to welcome him. President Miller Brady confirmed they've spent the past year preparing for Tiger's potential arrival.
In an interview with Golf Channel, Brady detailed the seriousness of these preparations.

"Yes, we're ready. We've absolutely prepared ourselves," Brady stated via cbssports.com.
"We've done extensive whiteboard planning throughout last year for Tiger turning 50. If or when he plays, our tournaments are ready."
Brady added preparations extend beyond the course to include infrastructure needed for a phenomenon like Woods.
"Extra needs—security, buses, portable toilets, food stalls—we've factored everything into that plan."
The typically quiet tour appears poised for transformation should Tiger compete.
Injuries and Seventh Surgery
Last October, Tiger announced his seventh back surgery for a collapsed lumbar disc.
No timeline exists for his competitive return, especially since this procedure followed recovery from a ruptured left Achilles before the 2025 Masters.
Since his 2021 car crash damaged his tibia and fibula, Tiger's greatest challenge has been walking—not his golf swing.
Over three years, he only completed weekends at two majors: the 2022 and 2024 Masters. Others ended in missed cuts or withdrawals.
This makes the PGA Tour Champions a far more realistic stage.
Shorter Format & Golf Carts
Playing on the Champions tour offers two key advantages: 54-hole tournaments instead of 72, and permitted golf cart usage at every event.
This matters greatly as Tiger's biggest burden isn't swinging clubs but enduring long walks on course.
He's already shown competitive form using carts, like at last December's PNC Championship with son Charlie—where they lost in a playoff.
PGA Tour Champions' Simple Hope
Amid speculation, Brady expressed a more human hope than public expectations.
"Honestly, with his latest surgery, I just hope Tiger can recover and play golf again."
This statement highlights something now more important than trophies: Tiger Woods' health.
While not yet ready for tournament golf, Tiger confirmed ongoing involvement by announcing attendance at all Jupiter Links Golf Club matches in simulator league TGL.
The league begins its second season in late December, with Jupiter Links scheduled to play on January 13, 2026.
This signals Tiger's competitive spirit remains alive even if his body can't fully cooperate.
If Tiger debuts on the PGA Tour Champions post-50th birthday, it would mark a new chapter in his legendary career—no longer chasing Jack Nicklaus' records, but playing at his body's rhythm, pressure-free, yet still inspiring the world.
