Imagine sitting in a seat by the window with a warm cup of coffee in hand, while the European scenery gradually transforms into Asia before your eyes. That's the experience offered by the world's longest train journey on the epic route from Portugal to Singapore.

A report from Greek Reporter states this train journey is the longest in distance globally. Covering 11,654 miles or 18,755 kilometers, it takes 21 days to reach the destination.

Crossing 13 Countries and 2 Continents

The adventure begins in Lagos, Portugal, as the train moves toward the capital Lisbon. After a brief stop to enjoy the beauty of the old city scented with pastel de nata, the journey continues to Basque, Spain.

The train will keep moving across regions, cities, countries, and even continents, including France, China, Vietnam, and Thailand.

During the trip, the train stops at several locations where passengers can explore beautiful cities like Paris, Moscow, Beijing, and Bangkok.

Each stop offers distinct charms: Paris with its romance, Moscow's grandeur, and Bangkok's vibrant colors.

No two days feel alike on these rails. The longest segment is the 40-hour stretch from Paris to Moscow, Russia.

A Ticket to Global Adventure

To enjoy this cross-continental route, passengers must prepare seven different visas as the train crosses numerous borders.

Riding this train requires $1,350 USD (approximately Rp21.4 million)—comparable to a plane ticket from Portugal to Singapore.

However, this journey isn't for those in a hurry. Compared to air travel, the cross-continental train demands more thorough planning, including securing multiple visas.

The Portugal-Singapore train journey isn't merely transportation; it's a transcontinental experience unifying culture, history, and adventure in one package.
