BK8 Gresini Racing MotoGP rider Alex Marquez delivered an outstanding performance by securing victory at the Malaysian Grand Prix at the Sepang International Circuit on Sunday, October 26, 2025. This brilliant win solidifies his position as the 2025 MotoGP runner-up, right behind the world champion and his older brother, Marc Marquez.

The race heated up as soon as the lights went out. Francesco Bagnaia from the Ducati Lenovo Team initially surged to the front, followed closely by Pedro Acosta from Red Bull KTM Factory Racing and Alex Marquez.

However, Alex began showing aggression midway through the first lap when he overtook Acosta, then continued his maneuver by conquering Bagnaia on the second lap.

Once in the lead, Alex was unstoppable until the finish line. Meanwhile, Bagnaia, facing technical issues, was forced to retire early.

With stability and no significant pressure, Alex Marquez completed the race in first place, followed by Pedro Acosta in second and Joan Mir from Honda HRC Castrol in third.

The win in Sepang marks Alex Marquez's third victory this season, further strengthening his grip on second place in the 2025 MotoGP final standings with 413 points.

He had already secured the 2025 MotoGP runner-up position since the sprint race the previous day, but the full victory in Malaysia further cemented his dominance behind the world champion, Marc Marquez.

Meanwhile, Marco Bezzecchi from Aprilia Racing rose to third place with 291 points, overtaking Bagnaia who dropped to fourth after failing to finish. Pedro Acosta closed out the top five with 260 points.

For Alex Marquez, the result in Malaysia is proof of his consistency throughout the season. The Spanish rider demonstrated exceptional ability in maintaining rhythm and managing pressure amid intense competition.

Marc Marquez Remains Unreachable

On the other hand, Marc Marquez from Ducati Lenovo Team remains the 2025 MotoGP world champion with a total of 545 points, far ahead of Alex. Nevertheless, the Marquez brothers duo has been a highlight this season, both displaying dominance across various rounds.

Alex's victory also underscores the resurgence of the BK8 Gresini Racing MotoGP team, now a new force among the independent teams. The stable performances of its riders, Alex Marquez and Fermin Aldeguer, have made the team increasingly respected on the track.
