Indonesia's campaign at Wimbledon 2026 remains ongoing. After Janice Tjen's run in the singles draw came to an end in the second round, the 24-year-old tennis player bounced back to carry the hopes of the Red and White flag in the women's doubles event alongside Aldila Sutjiadi.
The Janice/Aldila duo successfully secured a ticket to the second round after defeating home pair Harriet Dart / Maia Lumsden 6-3, 6-4 in their first round match at the All England Club, London, on Friday WIB.
This victory felt particularly special as it served as revenge for their loss against this exact same pair in the Nottingham Open semi-finals just a few weeks prior. This time around, Janice and Aldila were far better prepared and able to maintain control of the match.

The Indonesian pair played with aggression right from the first set. After securing the opening game, they won three consecutive games to build a 4-1 lead. This dominance continued until they closed out the first set with a final score of 6-3.
In the second set, Janice and Aldila broke their opponents' serve in the very first game and maintained their match rhythm to hold a 4-2 lead. Although Harriet Dart and Maia Lumsden managed to close the gap to 4-5, the Indonesian pair remained calm under pressure.
Playing with disciplined tennis, Janice and Aldila claimed the 10th game to seal the 6-4 victory, wrapping up the full match after 1 hour and 30 minutes of play.
Statistically, the Indonesian pair performed more effectively across almost every aspect of the game. Janice and Aldila accumulated 81 total points throughout the match, finishing ahead of the home pair who only recorded 70 points.
This result also marks a turnaround for Janice Tjen. Prior to this win, her singles campaign had ended in the second round following a three-set defeat against Daria Kasatkina.
Now, alongside Aldila Sutjiadi, Indonesia's hopes at Wimbledon 2026 are still very much alive, with the pair holding real prospects to progress deeper into the women's doubles draw.
