Persib Bandung Officially Recruits Japanese Midfielder Gakuto Notsuda

Persib Bandung has officially strengthened their midfield line by recruiting Japanese midfielder Gakuto Notsuda. The arrival of this 32-year-old player follows a direct recommendation from the coaching team, who assessed he meets the requirements of the Maung Bandung squad for the upcoming competitive season.

Adhitia Putra Herawan, Deputy CEO of PT Persib Bandung, explained that the decision to sign Notsuda was based on the coaching team's evaluation of the player's quality and experience.

"The coaching team views Gakuto as a player with the quality, experience, and flexibility that the team needs," stated PT Persib Bandung Deputy CEO Adhitia Putra Herawan via Persib's official channel on Sunday, 5 July 2026.

According to Adhitia, Notsuda's presence is expected to reinforce Persib's squad depth, so that the team can remain competitive across all tournaments throughout the season.

"His playing experience in Japanese and Thai competitions is an added advantage that we are confident will deliver positive contributions for the team," said Adhitia.

The club management also hopes this Japanese midfielder can adapt quickly to his new environment, so he can immediately show his best performance with Persib Bandung.

Before joining Persib, Gakuto Notsuda played for Thai League club BG Pathum United starting from 2024. Prior to that, he spent the vast majority of his professional football career in Japanese competitions.

With Notsuda joining the club, Persib now once again has a Japanese player in their squad. He becomes the fourth Japanese player to ever represent Maung Bandung, after Satoshi Otomo, Shohei Matsunaga, and Kenji Adachihara.

Gakuto Notsuda's arrival is expected to bring fresh dynamics to Persib's midfield, while also helping the team compete at domestic level and in other competitions throughout the season.
