The absence of main goalkeeper Emil Audero, still sidelined by injury, has impacted Cremonese's performance in the 2025/26 Italian League. Playing at their home ground, the Giovanni Zini Stadium, early Tuesday morning WIB, the hosts could only manage a 1-1 draw with Udinese.

Audero has been absent for several weeks, and the impact is clearly visible. This time, Marco Silvestri was entrusted with guarding Cremonese's goal.

Although he performed quite solidly at times, he still couldn't prevent his team from conceding.

A goal from Nicolo Zaniolo in the 51st minute cancelled out Cremonese's early lead, scored by Filippo Terracciano in the 4th minute.

Actually, Cremonese started the match with high spirits. Terracciano's early goal made the supporters at the Giovanni Zini cheer. This goal revived hopes of ending a winless streak that had lasted four matches.

Unfortunately, after Udinese equalized, all of Cremonese's efforts yielded no results. Veteran striker Jamie Vardy almost put his team ahead again, but his shot was blocked by a Udinese defender.

The best chance actually came from a free kick in the 79th minute that only hit the post. The final whistle blew with the score remaining 1-1.

This additional point keeps Cremonese in 10th place in the Serie A standings with 9 points. Meanwhile, Udinese are close behind in 11th place, just one point adrift.

Awaiting Audero's Return

For Cremonese fans, hopes now rest on Emil Audero's recovery. His experience and composure under the crossbar could be a crucial factor in boosting the morale of a team currently struggling.

Without Audero, Cremonese's defence still looks fragile. This draw serves as proof that Audero isn't just a player, but also the team's "guardian of stability".

Audero's injury also caused him to miss representing the Indonesian National Team in the fourth round of Group B for the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers. Indonesia failed to qualify for the World Cup after losing 1-2 to Saudi Arabia and 0-1 to Iraq.
