Brazil confirmed its status as one of the favourites for the 2026 World Cup Title after defeating Scotland 3-0 in the final Group C fixture at Miami Stadium, United States, on Thursday WIB. This commanding victory secured the Selecao's progression to the Round of 32 as Group C winners.

Brazil's standout player of the match was Vinicius Junior, who scored two goals. The remaining goal was contributed by Matheus Cunha, capping full dominance from Carlo Ancelotti's side throughout the entire match.

Right from the opening minute, Brazil showed their ambition to lock in top position in the Group C Standings. The Selecao's fast, aggressive play closed off all space for Scotland to build their own game plan.

Brazil scored their opener just seven minutes into the match. Vinicius capitalised on a defensive error from Scotland to put Brazil 1-0 ahead.

Vinicius later found the back of Scotland's net for a second time, but this goal was disallowed by the referee after VAR review, due to a foul committed in the build-up play.

The Selecao doubled their advantage during first half stoppage time. Bruno Guimaraes sent in a cross which Vinicius connected with for an accurate headed finish. The ball flew past Scotland's Goalkeeper, bringing the score to 2-0 in the 45+3rd minute.

Entering the second half, Scotland attempted to mount resistance. They created a clear chance through Scott McTominay, only for Brazil goalkeeper Alisson Becker to make the save.

Brazil extended their lead in the 60th minute. A perfectly weighted through ball from Bruno Guimaraes was finished cleanly by Matheus Cunha, Putting Brazil 3-0 up.

This match also delivered the long awaited moment for Brazil supporters: Neymar Jr made his first ever appearance at the 2026 World Cup, coming on as a substitute in the 76th minute.

While he did not record a goal or assist on his return, Neymar's presence injected fresh energy into Brazil's play.

The 3-0 scoreline held firm until the final whistle blew to end the match.
