Colombia National Team leads the provisional Standings for 2026 World Cup Group K after beating Uzbekistan 3-1 at the Azteca Stadium, Thursday morning WIB. Los Cafeteros had to battle hard before finally securing these three critical points.
Colombia dominated ball possession from the very first minute. The South American side worked to break down Uzbekistan's compact defence, but despite controlling the match flow they struggled to generate dangerous scoring opportunities.
Colombia's pressure finally bore fruit in the 40th minute. Running onto a through ball from Luis Diaz, Daniel Munoz fired Colombia into a 1-0 lead.

At the start of the second half, Uzbekistan upped their attacking intensity and made multiple substitutions.
Operating as Uzbekistan's main attacking threat, Abbosbek Fayzullaev repeatedly tested Colombia's backline. He converted a close-range header to level the scores in the 60th minute.
The goal came after Eldor Shomurodov struck the post with a volley, before Fayzullaev headed the rebound past Camilo Vargas to make it 1-1.
Colombia responded by storming Uzbekistan's defence, and Luis Diaz beat Utkir Yusupov to restore Colombia's lead at 2-1 in the 66th minute.
Once back in front, Los Cafeteros looked to control the match tempo. Still, Uzbekistan refused to fold and created repeated threats down the flanks.
As Uzbekistan committed players forward searching for an equaliser, Colombia exploited the open space in stoppage time. Cucho Hernandez sent a cross into the penalty area which Jaminton Campaz headed home to confirm Colombia's 3-1 victory.
This three point haul puts Colombia top of the Standings for Group K.
