Indonesian tennis player Janice Tjen has exited the 2026 Libema Open at an early stage. Janice was eliminated in the first round of this WTA 250 tournament hosted in 's-Hertogenbosch, Netherlands, on Tuesday, 9 June 2026.
Janice failed to get past Belgian Tennis Player Greet Minnen, who maintained solid consistent play for the full duration of the match. The tournament's 7th seed fell with a final score of 6-7(7), 1-6 after a 1 hour 47 minute contest.
This defeat comes as a setback for Janice, who has been working to recapture her peak form during this grass court season. Despite the result, the 24 year old athlete put up a tightly contested fight in the opening set before losing match momentum.

The match opened with fierce competition right from the first game. Janice was able to match Minnen's level of play, even holding a narrow advantage on first serve win percentage at 68% against Minnen's 67.6%.
The Jakarta-born player also recorded one ace during the match. However, Janice's serving game came under heavy pressure from Minnen, who landed an extremely effective 80.4% of her first serves -- a figure vastly higher than the Indonesian representative's 54.3% first serve completion rate.
The first set was decided via tie-break. In this high pressure moment, current world number 40 Minnen demonstrated her experience and calm composure, taking 7 out of 11 tie-break points to secure the opening set.
This advantage became the turning point of the entire match. Entering the second set, Minnen grew in confidence and sustained her high playing intensity. The Belgian athlete continued to dominate with her consistent serving efficiency and ability to control baseline rallies.
Janice attempted to mount a comeback, improving her first serve percentage to 60.7% for the second set. This effort was still not enough to halt Minnen's aggressive play, who successfully won 90% of all points on her own first serve.
Along with her superior first serve performance, Minnen also held a clear edge on second serve points and return play. This complete dominance left Janice unable to establish rhythm for her own game, ultimately forcing her to concede the match in straight sets.
The 2026 Libema Open becomes the second grass court tournament this season where Janice has not achieved a deep run in the singles Draw. Prior to this event, she was also stopped in the second round of the 2026 Birmingham Open.
Despite this, Janice does hold positive results from this grass court season. At the 2026 Birmingham Open, she won the WTA 125 doubles title alongside Australian player Talia Gibson.
Janice's campaign at the 2026 Libema Open has not concluded entirely. She is still set to compete in the doubles draw alongside fellow Indonesian compatriot Aldila Sutjiadi.
The second seeded pairing is scheduled to face unseeded duo Isabelle Haverlag and Maia Lumsden in the first round.
