Ministry of Tourism Supports the 2026 Mountain Jazz Series, Strengthening the Appeal of Mountain Tourism.

The natural beauty of Indonesia's mountains once again serves as the stage for the fusion of music, culture, and tourism. Through the organisation of BRI Jazz Gunung Series 2026, visitors are not only invited to enjoy jazz performances in open nature, but also to experience travel that immerses them alongside natural charm and local community life.

Full support for this event is provided by the Ministry of Tourism (Kemenpar). The government recognises Jazz Gunung as a proven successful example of event execution that drives the tourism sector while delivering tangible economic benefits for local communities.

Ni Komang Ayu Astiti, Assistant Deputy for National Events at the Ministry of Tourism, stated that Jazz Gunung has become a working collaborative model integrating entertainment, culture, and Tourist Destination development.

"The success of the BRI Jazz Gunung Series can serve as inspiration to develop similar events across other regions in Indonesia that possess rich natural and cultural assets," Komang remarked during the official BRI Jazz Gunung Series press conference in Jakarta on Tuesday.

She explained that hosting Jazz Gunung does not only deliver high quality music performances against breathtaking natural backdrops, but also creates wide-ranging economic opportunities for local Business operators across accommodation, food and beverage, and the Creative Economy sectors.

Furthermore, the Ministry of Tourism noted this event demonstrates formal commitment to Sustainable Tourism, as recognised by its Green Event of the Year 2025 award.

"We hope that support and collaboration across all stakeholders will continue to be strengthened, so that the benefits generated will reach even more communities and grow the wider tourism sector," she added.

For this edition, BRI Jazz Gunung Series 2026 carries the theme "Jazztination" -- a concept that blends the live jazz experience with guided exploration of Mountain Tourism destinations.

The event series will be hosted at two flagship locations. First, Wanawisata Baturraden will hold BRI Jazz Gunung Slamet on 27 June 2026. Festivities will then continue to the Bromo region, with BRI Jazz Gunung Bromo running 18-25 July 2026 in Sukapura.

Alongside the main concerts, visitors will have access to art exhibitions, local MSME markets, and a full program of nature and cultural activities designed to showcase local heritage to attending tourists.

Sigit Pramono, co-founder of Jazz Gunung Indonesia, explained that the long-running success of the event is built upon cross-sector collaboration within the tourism and creative economy ecosystem.

"This event is not operated only by concert organisers. Creative economy practitioners, tourism operators, small business owners, local communities and ordinary residents all play active roles in bringing this entire event ecosystem to life," Sigit stated.

The main peak celebrations for BRI Jazz Gunung Bromo will take place 24-25 July 2026 at the Jiwa Jawa Resort Bromo Amphitheatre. A curated line up of jazz and cross-genre musicians from Indonesia and overseas are scheduled to perform for audiences within the mountain landscape.

BRI Jazz Gunung Series 2026 once again reaffirms its standing as one of Indonesia's flagship tourism events.
