Indonesia vs Cambodia: Mitchell Baker through to Jens Raven are ready to make their debut for the senior national team.

The Indonesia National Team is expected to field new faces as they begin their campaign at the ASEAN Hyundai Cup 2026, also known as the AFF Cup 2026. Five players are in line to make their senior Garuda squad debut during the Group A opening match against Cambodia at Pakansari Stadium, Bogor Regency, on Monday 27 July 2026 at 20.30 WIB.

Head coach John Herdman has included Mitchell Baker, Tim Geypens, Jens Raven, Brian Fatari, and Rizky Eka Pratama in the 26-man squad prepared for this Southeast Asian tournament. Should they be selected to play, all five will register their first ever senior appearance for the Indonesian national team.

Mitchell Baker is one of the most highly anticipated players in the squad. The 19-year-old forward officially obtained Indonesian citizenship on 13 July 2026 and immediately received a call-up to join the Garuda squad.

The 2026 AFF Cup is set to be Baker's first competitive senior international stage. Prior to this call-up, he had been participating in the national training camp since late May, giving him sufficient time to adapt to John Herdman's playing system.

Tim Geypens also holds the same opportunity to debut. The 21-year-old left back previously represented the Indonesia U-20 National Team under head coach Indra Sjafri.

He gained valuable international experience at the Toulon Cup, where he faced off against Ukraine U-23, Panama U-23, Japan U-19, Italy U-21, and South Korea U-21. During this tournament run, Geypens was trusted to start in Indonesia's match against Japan.

Last season, the current Bali United defender made consistent appearances for FC Emmen in the Dutch second tier, recording 30 matches, 2 goals, and 2 assists.

Jens Raven Awaiting His First Opportunity

Tim Geypens' club teammate at Bali United, Jens Raven, is also in contention for a senior international debut.

This young striker is no stranger to the national team setup. Raven previously represented Indonesia at U-19, U-20, U-22, and U-23 levels, scoring 17 goals across 29 matches.

Though he was named in the senior squad for the March and June 2026 FIFA Matchday windows, Raven has yet to receive playing time. The fixture against Cambodia could finally be the moment the young forward makes his official senior debut.

In defensive positions, Brian Fatari is the next candidate to make his first appearance. The 26-year-old centre back put in impressive performances for Dewa United Banten FC throughout the previous season.

Brian registered 32 appearances and contributed 2 assists, maintaining his consistent form that saw him established as a regular first choice defender in the prior campaign.

This reliable level of performance was one of the key factors John Herdman called him up to represent Indonesia at the 2026 AFF Cup.

The final player in line for a debut is Rizky Eka Pratama. The 26-year-old left winger is noted as a loyal one-club player, having spent his entire professional career exclusively with PSM Makassar.

According to Transfermarkt records, Rizky has made 200 senior appearances for the club, with a return of 6 goals and 16 assists.

Over the last two seasons, his game time has increased significantly. He featured in 66 matches for a total of 3,418 minutes on the pitch, with this consistent output earning him his national team call-up.
