Serie A surprise package Como 1907 have secured their spot in next season's Champions League after crushing Cremonese with a dominant 4-1 scoreline on the final matchweek of the 2025/26 Italian League at Stadio Giovanni Zini, early Monday morning. This result marks a historic moment for Como, as the club will compete in Europe's most prestigious club competition for the very first time.
Como's victory was made even more perfect as AC Milan suffered a defeat at San Siro on the same night. The club ended the season in 4th place, officially locking in their Champions League qualification.
Lucas Da Cunha scored a brace for Como, while the remaining two goals came from Jesus Rodriguez and Anastasios Douvikas. Cremonese only managed to pull one back through Federico Bonazzoli.

This defeat was a devastating blow for Cremonese, as it confirms their relegation to Serie B next season. The club, which features Indonesian National Team Goalkeeper Emil Audero, will now drop down a division.
Both sides played under enormous pressure right from kickoff, with the match outcome set to decide each club's fate. Como were chasing Champions League qualification, while Cremonese fought to avoid relegation and retain their Serie A status.
Como registered the first threat through Assane Diao's header, which went just wide of the target. The away side continued to dominate proceedings before finally breaking the deadlock in the 36th minute.
Starting with a penetrating run down the left flank by Assane Diao, his cross was initially parried by Emil Audero, sparking chaos inside the Cremonese penalty area.
A loose ball following a poor clearance from Giuseppe Pezzella fell straight to Jesus Rodriguez, who slotted home the opening goal for Como with ease. The 1-0 lead stood until the halftime break.
Como doubled their advantage in the 51st minute. This time, Jesus Rodriguez turned provider, delivering a perfect through ball that was finished off by Tasos Douvikas to make the score 2-0.
Cremonese gave themselves a glimmer of hope for a comeback just four minutes later, when they were awarded a penalty after Jacobo Ramon fouled Jamie Vardy inside the box.
Stepping up as the designated taker, Federico Bonazzoli converted the penalty flawlessly, pulling the score back to 2-1 in the 55th minute. The stadium briefly erupted following this goal.
However, Cremonese's revival momentum did not last long. Disaster struck in the 70th minute when Alberto Grassi was shown a straight red card after a VAR review, also awarding Como a penalty. Lucas Da Cunha successfully converted the spot kick in the 74th minute, extending Como's lead to 3-1.
The French midfielder added his second goal seven minutes later, with a low driven shot that left Emil Audero rooted to the spot.
Como later had an additional goal from Sergi Roberto ruled out, as Alvaro Morata was judged to have been in an offside position in the build up.
As the final whistle blew, the ground erupted into full celebrations for Como. AC Milan's defeat meant no other remaining results could affect the Standings, confirming Como's first ever Champions League qualification in the entire club's history.
