The Indonesia Open 2026 tournament is scheduled to run from 2 to 7 June 2026 at Istora Senayan, Jakarta. For this event, Indonesia's Men's Doubles sector is not travelling only to compete - the squad carries a formal target to claim the championship title.
Indonesian men's doubles coach Antonius Budi Ariantho has communicated this mandate publicly without ambiguity. Against the brutal standard of competition at BWF Super 1000 level, Indonesia intends to ensure this title remains on home soil.
"We must win this," Antonius Budi Ariantho stated firmly on Wednesday.

Indonesia will field multiple seeded pairs to chase the top podium. Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Shohibul Fikri, Raymond Indra/Nikolaus Joaquin, and Leo Rolly Carnando/Daniel Marthin will form the backbone of the men's doubles contingent.
Preparations for the Indonesia Open are being executed with a calibrated strategy. Antonius confirmed that two pairs, Raymond Indra/Nikolaus Joaquin and Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Shohibul Fikri, will first compete at the Singapore Open 2026 next week.
This arrangement is designed to rebuild match rhythm for the athletes, following a lengthy rest period after the last national team campaign. The coaching staff aim to rebuild competitive momentum before the squad performs in front of their home supporters.
Meanwhile, the Leo Rolly Carnando/Daniel Marthin pair has been granted extra recovery time. Both athletes have just completed a packed tournament stretch after appearing at the Thailand Open 2026 and Malaysia Masters 2026.
"Yes, we are sending only two pairs to Singapore Open: Joaquin/Raymond and Fajar/Fikri. After coming home from the Thomas Cup we had a two week window, we used that period for maintenance work... With any luck we will hit peak form right for Indonesia Open," explained Anton, the coach's familiar nickname.
This championship target for Indonesia Open is no casual ambition. Over recent seasons, Indonesia's men's doubles division has been recognised as one of the global elite's strongest forces, yet home tournament appearances always carry unique, additional challenges.
Inside Istora, spectator support reliably acts as extra energy for Indonesian athletes. But this same environment brings overwhelming public expectation, particularly at a Super 1000 tier event that draws every top ranked pair on the planet.
Right now, the hopes of the Indonesian public rest on the readiness of Fajar/Fikri, Leo/Daniel and the other upcoming pairs to uphold the nation's Badminton legacy. With completed preparations and the roar of thousands of Istora spectators behind them, Indonesia believes their men's doubles squad can once again claim the top podium at Indonesia Open 2026.
